Until very recently, Krakow was unknown to most international travelers. However, since Poland's entry to the EU in 2004, Krakow has seen an explosion in popularity among tourists. Unlike Warsaw, it's old city escaped destruction during WWII and communist occupation. This, combined with it's affordability, has brought an influx of travelers looking for "the next Prague". Yet Krakow remains inexpensive, and is a true must-see for any visitor to Eastern Europe.
